Ordinary lightning detectors cannot determine whether a thunderstorm is near or far, stronger or relatively weak. And, since thunderstorm cells are localized phenomena, the "false alarm" rate is also high.
The StormTracker Lightning Detector is an add-on to your PC computer allowing you to not only tell if lightning is near but to see where it is. It can detect lightning strikes
up to 300 miles away and plot the strikes in real time on your monitor in a radar-like display with a background map of your region.
All lightning strike data is saved to your hard disk to allow playback of past events or continuous looping of current data. Now there is no more guessing if the storm is heading your way as with systems that offer only audible warnings. Instantly see where the storm is and in which direction it is heading. Watch the storm cells build, move, and die out. You may also configure severe and close storm alarms.
You may save all data for future analysis.
StormTracker includes antenna (3"x2"x2"), Windows software,
internal StormTracker computer PCI receiver board, manual, and 50' of antenna cable. Longer cables are available below (call or email us for custom length cables).
Background Map Sets: StormTracker can be used without a background map but we recommend having one. You can make your own or we can make them for you. When ordering the StormTracker, please tell us the location where you will be using it in the "Comments" field of our order form. Include your city, state, and county, as well as your latitude and longitude if you know them. We will create a custom map set to show lightning activity in a 100, 200 and 300 mile radius from your location
For even more possibilities, combine StormTracker with Lightning/2000 software.
